Why Renew exists
Renew was founded around a simple observation: East Texas families with struggling teenagers were finding waiting lists, generalist counselors who weren't sure what to do with an angry 15-year-old, and practices that saw adolescents as an afterthought.
"Teenagers who don't want to be in your office aren't defiant. They're struggling. The crossed arms and the phone-checking aren't attitude — they're armor. You earn the right to be heard."
That belief shaped everything about how Renew was built. Not a general practice that also sees teenagers — a group practice built specifically around this population. Every counselor at Renew was selected because they actually want to be in that room with a resistant teenager, a frustrated parent, or a family that's stopped talking to each other.
Renew isn't one person. It's a team — with different specialties, different approaches, and a shared belief that the right counselor for the right client changes everything.

For a teenager to talk honestly, they need to know the room is safe. We navigate parent communication with care — keeping families in the loop on progress while protecting the trust that makes counseling possible. We'll always talk through what that looks like for your specific situation.
