Christian counseling that honors your faith.

You want a counselor who understands your faith is not separate from who you are — it's woven into how you make decisions, how you process pain, and what you believe about healing and hope. Our counselors integrate faith meaningfully, without forcing it.

You don't have to leave your faith at the door. And you don't have to be a certain kind of Christian.

Integrated
Faith-based counseling at Renew means clinical, evidence-based care — not devotionals in place of therapy. Your counselor holds both at the same time, allowing faith to inform the process without replacing it
Licensed
Every counselor at Renew is a licensed or license-track professional. Faith-based doesn't mean unlicensed. It means trained clinicians who also understand faith as a genuine dimension of human experience
All Welcome
You don't need to be Christian to come to Renew. We welcome people of all faith backgrounds and those with none. Our faith-based counselors are sensitive, not prescriptive

What "faith-based" actually means at Renew

Some faith-based counseling practices use devotionals or scripture in place of clinical care. That's not how we approach it. At Renew, faith-based counseling means your counselor brings the same evidence-based training as any therapist — and integrates your faith as a meaningful part of who you are. We don't assume your faith background, push a theological position, or minimize your struggles in the name of spiritual optimism. We listen. We use what we know. And we honor what you bring.

Christian counseling in Longview, TX

Many East Texas families search specifically for Christian counseling — a counselor who shares their values and won’t treat faith as an afterthought. You’ll find that at Renew. The order matters, though: you get a licensed professional counselor first. Faith can be woven into your sessions when you want it there, and it is never a substitute for clinical care. If your teen is anxious or your marriage is strained, you deserve someone who respects what you believe and knows how treatment actually works. At Renew you don’t choose between the two.

What we work on in faith-based counseling

Anxiety, depression, and emotional health

Clinical anxiety and depression are real and treatable — including for people of deep faith. Renew counselors understand the intersection of spiritual and emotional health, and why "just pray more" is not a complete answer to a clinical struggle.

Faith struggles and spiritual crises

Doubt, deconstruction, disillusionment with the church, or a season where faith feels hollow or broken. These are legitimate experiences that deserve genuine exploration — not quick reassurance. Our counselors hold space for the full complexity of a faith journey.

Marriage and relationship counseling

Couples who share faith often want that honored in their counseling. Renew counselors understand how spiritual values intersect with communication, roles, expectations, and conflict in marriage.

Grief and loss

Loss often raises the deepest theological questions: Why did this happen? What do I believe about where they are now? How do I reconcile my faith with what I'm feeling? Our counselors can sit with you in that without rushing you to resolution.

Identity, purpose, and life decisions

Vocational questions, transitions, searching for meaning and direction. For people of faith, these are often deeply spiritual questions. Counseling can help you think through them with clarity and without judgment.

Teen and family counseling

Parents who want their teen seen by a counselor who won't undermine their family's faith values. Families navigating a teen's questions about faith, identity, or purpose. Renew's team understands these dynamics from the inside.

Questions we hear before the first call

Sessions at Renew range from $45–$115 depending on your counselor's credential level: $45 with a Master's-level counselor, $75 with an LPC-Associate, and $100 with a fully licensed counselor (LPC or LPC-S). No. We welcome people of any faith background — Christian, Catholic, non-denominational, Jewish, Muslim, or spiritual-but-not-religious. We also welcome people who have no faith background and simply want counseling in a warm, values-driven environment. Our counselors won't impose a theological framework on your care.
This is exactly the kind of thing we can work through together. Doubt, deconstruction, and spiritual disillusionment are real and often painful experiences. Our counselors won't rush you toward resolution or tell you what to believe. They'll help you process the questions honestly — and hold space for you wherever you land.
Yes, fully. Every counselor at Renew holds a Texas LPC or LPC-Associate license (or is working toward one under supervision). Faith-based at Renew means we integrate faith as a meaningful dimension of your life — not that we replace clinical training with religious content. You get both.
No. Renew counselors follow professional ethics that prohibit imposing personal values on clients. Your counselor may have their own faith — but their role is to help you, not persuade you. They'll follow your lead about how much faith integration you want in your sessions.
