Getting started
How do I get started with counseling at Renew?
Call or text (903) 386-3824 for a free 15-minute fit call. You tell us what's going on, we tell you honestly whether we're the right fit — and if we're not, we point you to someone who is. You can also send us a message or request an appointment online.
How quickly can we be seen?
New clients are typically seen within 1–2 weeks. Evening and Saturday appointments are available.
Do I need a referral?
No. Anyone can call us directly — no doctor's referral, no paperwork to get started.
Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes — we offer a free 15-minute Fit Call. It’s a no-pressure phone conversation to talk through what you’re looking for, answer your questions, and help you decide whether we’re a good fit before you schedule anything. Finding the right counselor matters, and this is an easy, no-cost place to start.
Costs & insurance
How much does counseling cost?
Sessions run $45–$115 depending on your counselor's credential level: $45 with a graduate counselor intern, $65 for life coaching, $75 with an LPC-Associate, and $100 with a fully licensed counselor (LPC or LPC-S). Joint (couples/family) sessions are $115 with a fully licensed counselor. Full details on our Fees & Rates page.
Do you take insurance?
Renew is self-pay. We provide superbills you can submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement, and we accept HSA/FSA cards. Self-pay also means no diagnosis is required on your record just to start counseling.
How much does ADHD screening and assessment cost?
ADHD screening and assessment with Taylor Jirik, LPC-Associate (under LPC-S supervision) is $100 for the clinical intake, $150 per 90-minute testing session (most people need one), and $100 for the results and report review — typically about $350 total. More on the ADHD page.
How much are teen groups?
$45 per session. See group counseling for what's currently running.
Parents & teens
What if my teenager refuses to come?
This is one of the most common things we hear, and our counselors are experienced with resistant and skeptical teens. The first session is about building trust, not fixing everything. Many teens who arrive angry about being there choose to come back.
Will I know what my teen talks about in session?
We keep teens' confidence so they'll actually talk — that's what makes counseling work — while keeping parents informed about progress and direction. Safety is the exception: if your teen is at risk, you will know. Your counselor will walk you through exactly how this works in the first session.
How young do you go?
Ages 3 and up. Young children work with our play therapy team — Kimberly Reagan, LPC-S and Caitlyn Walker — because play is how children show what they can't yet say.
Location & hours
Where are you located, and where do I park?
The Lab on High building, 1000 N High St, Longview — but park in the free lot on Oxford Street and use the Oxford Street entrance. Doors unlock at 8 a.m. and lock at 7 p.m. Map and details on the contact page.
What are your hours?
Counseling hours: Monday–Friday 8am–7pm, Saturday 8am–4pm. Office hours (calls and messages returned): Monday–Friday 8am–5pm.
Can I text you?
Yes — (903) 386-3824 receives texts. Send us a text and we'll reply during office hours.
I'm an existing client — how do I log in?
Client portal login is here — manage appointments, join telehealth sessions, and complete paperwork.
What happens after I book my first appointment?
Once we've confirmed your counselor fits your needs — including price and scheduling — we book your intake and send you a link to your TherapyNotes patient portal. Before your first session, you'll complete your intake paperwork there: history form, informed consent, and HIPAA privacy notice, all signed electronically. You'll also set up billing with a card kept on file (it draws after each session — automatic withdrawal is available, and cash works too). After that, the portal is where you schedule or reschedule, message your counselor, request documents, and join telehealth sessions.
Services
Do you offer telehealth?
Yes — secure video sessions through our client portal, available to anyone in Texas. Details on the telehealth page.
Do you offer counseling in Spanish?
Cristal Vences provides fully bilingual life coaching, and we maintain a Spanish-language page for our Spanish-speaking families.
Do you offer EMDR?
Justin Robinson, LPC-S is EMDR certified and works with trauma in teens and adults. More on the EMDR page.
Is counseling at Renew faith-based?
It can be, if you want it to be. Several of our counselors integrate faith when clients ask for it. It is never assumed and never required — the same care applies either way.
Do you see couples?
Yes, we see couples. Couples counseling offers a supportive space to work on communication, connection, conflict, and the challenges that come with sharing life together. Whether you’re navigating a hard season or simply want to strengthen your relationship, we’re glad to help you find a counselor who works with couples.
What’s the difference between group and individual counseling?
We offer both. Individual counseling is one-on-one time focused entirely on you and your goals. Group counseling brings together a small number of people working through similar experiences, guided by a counselor — many people find encouragement and connection in knowing they’re not alone. Some clients do one, some do both. If you’re unsure which fits your situation, we’re glad to talk it through with you.
