Renew Counseling Center facilitates ongoing counseling groups to provide peer support and encouragement by affording a safe and supportive environment to discuss personal stresses and struggles with others in similar circumstances.
The counseling groups will help teens learn how to share their life stories, grow in encouraging others with similar issues, learn healthy coping strategies, and learn the importance of not dealing with your struggles on their own. Counseling Groups will sometimes have a specific topic they will be addressing (Ex: social anxiety, grief and loss, family conflict) or groups may not have a specific topic and focus more on dealing with several topics or issues…
Any adolescent that is struggling with anxiety/depression, peer relationships, family conflict, poor social skills, or grief can benefit from group counseling. Group counseling is extremely helpful in normalizing the struggles in their lives and help them feel like they are not alone.
During the 8-week psycho educational support group, participates (ages 13-17) will learn how to connect with others, develop healthy coping skills, improve self-confidence and have a safe supportive environment to be vulnerable about the struggles in their lives.
