Individual counseling in Longview, TX — what brings adults to Renew

There's no situation too small or too complicated. If it's affecting your daily life, it's worth talking about.

Anxiety & Worry

Constant overthinking, physical tension, avoiding situations that trigger anxiety, difficulty relaxing even when nothing is "wrong."

Depression & Low Mood

Persistent flatness or sadness, loss of motivation, withdrawing from people or activities, feeling like you're going through the motions.

Grief & Loss

Loss of a person, a relationship, a job, a chapter of life. Grief doesn't follow a schedule and it doesn't require explanation.

Life Transitions

Divorce, career change, moving, becoming a parent, a child leaving home. Big changes — even positive ones — can be genuinely hard to navigate.

Trauma & PTSD

Past experiences that are still affecting your present: relationships, reactions, triggers, sleep, trust. Trauma doesn't require a dramatic event to be real.

Burnout & Exhaustion

Running on empty for too long. Caring for everyone else while running low yourself. The gradual erosion of what used to bring you energy.

Relationship Struggles

Patterns that keep showing up — in friendships, family, romantic relationships. Feeling like you don't know how to get what you need from the people in your life.

Self-Worth & Identity

A persistent feeling that you're not enough — or too much. Difficulty knowing what you actually want. Feeling disconnected from who you are.

You might be ready to call when…

The way you've been coping has stopped working — or is creating new problems
You're having the same argument, thought pattern, or problem on repeat
You feel like you're watching your life from a distance instead of living it
You're exhausted but can't sleep, or sleeping too much and still tired
Something happened — months ago, or years ago — that you haven't actually processed
You keep thinking "I should talk to someone about this" and then not doing it
You're irritable, withdrawn, or anxious in ways the people close to you are starting to notice
A major transition is coming — or just happened — and you don't feel equipped to handle it alone
You're not sure what's wrong, but you know something isn't right

The bar to call is low. The Fit Call is 15 minutes and free. You don't need to have it all figured out before you call.

How getting started works

1

Free 15-Minute Fit Call

Call or message us. We'll listen, answer your questions, and honestly tell you whether Renew is the right fit. No pressure and no commitment required.

2

Match with the right counselor

We match you with the counselor who is best suited for what you're working on — experience, specialty, and personality all matter.

3

First session

The first session is a genuine conversation — not a form to fill out. Your counselor listens, asks questions, and starts building a picture of what's happening and what you want to change.

4

Ongoing care

Sessions are weekly or every other week, depending on what you need. You and your counselor check in regularly about progress and adjust the approach as things develop.

Questions before your first call

Your first session is mostly a conversation. Your counselor will ask questions to understand what's going on, what you're hoping for, and what's brought you to this point. There's no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with. You don't need to prepare anything. The goal is to get a clear enough picture to figure out the right path forward — together.
Renew is self-pay only. We provide superbills so you can seek reimbursement from your insurance as an out-of-network provider — if your policy covers out-of-network mental health services. Most policies do not, so check with your provider first. HSA and FSA cards are accepted. Sessions range from $45–$115.
Yes — sessions are confidential. There are narrow legal exceptions: if you disclose that you intend to harm yourself or someone else, or if abuse of a child or vulnerable adult is disclosed, we are required by law to act on that. Beyond those exceptions, what you share in sessions stays between you and your counselor. No records are shared with employers, insurers, or family members without your written consent.
Yes. During the Fit Call, we'll discuss your situation and match you with the counselor who seems like the best fit. If after a session or two it doesn't feel right — the approach, the personality, the fit — tell us. We'll find you a better match. Getting the right counselor matters more than loyalty to the first one.
Counselors at Renew are directive when it helps — we'll offer strategies, frameworks, and honest feedback. But we don't tell you what to do with your life. Our job is to help you understand yourself more clearly, develop real tools, and make decisions that align with what you actually want — not what we think you should want.

Looking for something specific? We also have dedicated pages for anxiety counseling and depression counseling.
