You don't have to keep carrying what happened. Healing is possible.
Trauma changes how the nervous system works. It doesn't just go away on its own. At Renew, we use evidence-based trauma treatment — including EMDR, Trauma-Focused CBT, and trauma-informed individual therapy — to help you work through it rather than around it.
One call. Real answers. No pressure.
How trauma shows up — long after the event
You don't have to know if your experience "qualifies" as trauma. If you're still carrying it — if it's affecting your sleep, your relationships, your sense of safety — that's enough reason to call.
Types of trauma we work with at Renew
Trauma comes in many forms. Our counselors are trained across a range of trauma presentations and match the approach to what each client needs.
Single-Incident Trauma
A specific event — accident, assault, medical emergency, witnessing violence — that created a stress response that hasn't resolved on its own.
Complex & Repeated Trauma
Ongoing abuse, neglect, or chronic exposure to threatening environments. Requires a longer runway to establish safety before processing can begin.
Developmental Trauma (Childhood)
Trauma that occurred during formative years, affecting attachment, identity, and emotional regulation. Often shows up in adulthood as relationship patterns or dysregulation.
PTSD in Teenagers
Teen PTSD often looks like behavior problems, anger, school avoidance, or social withdrawal — not the classic "fear" symptoms. Frequently misdiagnosed or dismissed.
Trauma + Grief
Loss that involved traumatic circumstances — sudden death, violence, suicide. Standard grief counseling isn't always enough when trauma is woven into the loss.
Trauma + Anxiety or Depression
Anxiety and depression are frequently rooted in unprocessed trauma. When talk therapy alone hasn't moved things, trauma-focused treatment often reaches what conversation couldn't.
EMDR Therapy is available at Renew
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is one of the most researched trauma treatments in the world — endorsed by the APA, WHO, VA, and more than 8 major health organizations worldwide. EMDR doesn't require detailed narration of traumatic events. Many clients who spent years in talk therapy find that EMDR moves things that conversation alone couldn't reach.

We Match You
You're connected with the counselor whose training and style best fits your situation. Trauma treatment works best when the relationship feels safe — matching matters.
Safety First
The first phase of trauma therapy is always about stabilization — building the capacity to hold the work before we do it. We don't rush processing.
Ongoing Trauma Work
Using the approach matched to your needs — EMDR, TF-CBT, or trauma-informed therapy — we work through the material at your pace, with your counselor.
What happened to you wasn't your fault. What comes next can be different.
Trauma therapy isn't about reliving what happened. It's about helping your nervous system learn that the threat is over — so you can live in the present instead of the past.
The first step is a conversation. There's no pressure, no commitment, and no judgment on the Fit Call.
